Well...this Dewars on the rocks is tasting mighty fine right now...
Considering my day, which would consist of the following:

1.) My full-time job at the theatre ( 9-5 )
2.) My second job at the mall ( 6-10 )
3.) Going BACK to the theatre about 10:15 to help the production crew set up the stage and lights for the upcoming show....

Needless to say, I am TOTALLY wiped out. I have found that Dewars on the rocks is a good remedy for that, though

How was everyone else's Friday? :D :boring:

1. Your post took me back in time
One of my best friends (a guy) used to drink Dewars on the rocks -- we would sit and talk and talk--- I love that guy... He is in Oklahoma - I am here, in San Diego.

(BTW I hates, hates, hates scotch... But I understand the scotch drinkers pretty well!)

Peace

2. I USED to hate the taste of it when my brother tried introducing me to a
bottle of single malt ( Glenlivet, I think ) and I thought it tasted like crap, but it definitely is an acquired taste...and you grow to like it.

3. The funny thing about it that it is a very relaxing drink...unlike some others
Rum, for example, makes me extremely silly and sometimes nasty ( I can't figure this out, but I usually avoid the stuff ) the same thing goes for Jamison's or Tullamore Dew.

I used to be ( and for the most part, still am ) a gin-and-tonic kind of guy...the drink never hits me so hard that I become belligerent or make an ass of myself, but I just know that it hits me..period.

4. i got a friend that drinks Dewars and milk
Edited on Sat Sep-22-07 01:03 AM by ikhor
and loves it. I never have tried the milk part. I like it straight up with a cola chaser. Or just straight with a little water.

edit: my friday was pretty good. I looked at all kinds of mayflies, dragonflies, and damselflies under a microscope.

7. A shame I have no milk in this apartment at the moment...because I would
take part in that experiment if I could....since I could have an intravenous ice-cold milk feed given to me until the day I die and be one happy S.O.B. ( ice cold milk would have to be my second favorite beverage ). But I'll guess the Dewars will have to do at the moment...

5. My dear TK421...
My day has been a lot quieter than yours....

I spent it at home, busy with stuff here...

Just finished watching "Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban" with my husband....What a terrific movie!

Earlier I had a thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=6954651&mesg_id=6954651

And now the rain is coming down very seriously...

Nice to see you tonight...

I'm glad you're relaxing...

6. You know what? I've never even seen the second movie..it seems I have some
catching up to do. I have a friend who is an absolute fanatic when it comes to Harry Potter, and she knows everything there is to know about the books ( and movies ). I'll have to catch the earlier sequels some time..

I've heard that the rain doesn't last that long...just like when I was living in Florida. However, I'll bet that California kicks Florida's ass by a mile!!

8. The movies are really very good, IMHO...
I think they are excellent adaptations of the books...

They just transport you to a very different time and place...

I'm hoping the rain will last overnight, and then vanish...

Leaving us with very clear skies and wonderful waves onto the beaches...
