I just saw the trailer for "The Golden Compass" and now I want to read those books!
Anyone read the "His Dark Materials" trilogy by Philip Pullman?

I read synopsis of the three books on amazon and was quite intrigued. I don't know that I'll have time to read them until Christmas break from graduate school or next summer, but I think I'd like to read them.

What do you think about them? :)

1. DEFINITELY read the books!
I loved all three. The trailer looks great--they seem to be very true to the story, which is a good thing. And Sam Elliott as Lee Scoresby is the ONLY person they could have cast in that role. Love Daniel Craig as Lord Asriel, too.

4. It's a fantastic series.
I loved it and bought the series for my little cousins at Christmas. It's a smart series.

I'm very skeptical about Nicole Kidman in the role, but I'll give the movie a chance.

7. They are orgasmically good.
I'm not shitting you. Especially if you hate neoconism, suppression of thought, and organized religion and like bright, engaging fantasy.

I give the series about 20,000 thumbs up, they're that good.

:)
