So I must have recieved a textbook from the future!!!!

I'm writing a paper for one of my classes right now and I wanted to check the copyright information of my textbook so I can use it as a citation and the damn thing says "Copyright 2008". How is that even possible? I bought the damn thing a month ago and there were clearly 4 months left in 2007! What gives? I feel like I slipped into the Twilight Zone :crazy:

The law allows us to publish (that is, allow a book to be shipped from the warehouse) books that have the following year's date for the copyright year, but no longer than one year. One publisher started it - it makes the book sound more up-to-date - and now we all have to do it to compete.
