4. heck if I know -
but I think they're supposed to be made with gin. Hence the 'martini' and the 'vodka martini'.

I am certain appletinis and chocolatinis and such don't count. :P

unless you order a Vodka Martini -- Or an Apple-tini or other flavored martini...

16. 5 minutes in the penalty box
Martinis are gin. Vodka martinis are bastard children of martinis. All that apple/ruby/chiroc stuff is just cocktails in a martini glass. Some are still tasty, but they're not martinis.

6. thanks
I just read that on a different site, and that was what I leaning toward, but it's always good to ask the lounge important questions. :)

( I need a birthday gift for a friend, and if memory serves Bombay Sapphire was his latest favorite gin. )

Top 3 (according to the article's taste testing):

1. Plymouth English Gin
2. Junipero Anchor Distilling
3. Caldenhead's Old Raj Dry Gin

Myself, I use Tanqueray

Edit: Watch the interactive feature, where they walk you through the tasting.

When the proper version of Plymouth gin disappeared, he switched to Boodles.

Tanqueray. And forget the vermouth. Add a slice of lemon peel, and twist it over the top of the glass.

Edited for typo, not apostrophe abuse. I am a journalism school graduate, I know about apostrophes.
