Spartans beat ND for 6th straight time at South Bend (record); U-M apparently godlike again

I hope ND bounces back, but this season is gone. My Spartans are 4-0, and without John L. as coach this year (Mark Dantonio rules!), we have a chance to be better than decent. We'll find out next week at Wisconsin.

Meanwhile, Penn State just can't beat Michigan, and the Detroit papers are already running articles this evening about how wonderful, noble, perfect, saintlike U-M football is and always has been, never defeated except for bad calls by evil officials. In other words, back to normal. They have many, many fans, and a rare few of them have even attended school there. Mostly, though, their fan base consists of non-alums living their lives through the Wolverines. Who are now unbeatable again. Until next time.

We'll see what happens when they visit Spartan Stadium this year. Note to the Weasels fans: John L. is gone. There's a new sheriff in town.

1. Funny, it always seems to me that the Detroit News slobbers all over State
and never cuts Michigan any slack. I guess it all depends on who your team is.

I grew up just outside of East Lansing and you want to talk about fans who didn't attend the school? State has plenty and they get lots of exercise jumping on and off the Spartan bandwagon, believe me. One of the nastiest, most disloyal bunches of people I've ever come across. Someone once tried to through a brick through the back window of my car because I had a Michigan sticker; it was not a game day for any sport and I wasn't even in East Lansing. I can almost guarantee the guy wasn't a State grad.

2. Well, at least your team is still undefeated all time, except for those bad calls.
When Darryl Rogers called U-M fans Arrogant Asses, he had a point.

Good luck until your visit to Spartan Stadium. Where you get that interpretation about The Detroit News (the late Joe Falls, who hated State? Bob Wojnowski, who was hired to tear State down?), is beyond me. Look at the headlines week after week. U-M pandering. They know what sells papers, and they whip up the hatred.

Guess we'll see what happens. One thing is for sure: You own Penn State, lock stock and barrel.
