Mr. LIW and I are supposed to go to Octoberfest tonight at our favorite brew pub.
Unfortunately, I have a sore throat.

The babysitter is due to arrive in two hours. Do I call her and cancel? Do I go ahead and go out?

I don't have any other symptoms. Just the sore throat. We've been sleeping with the windows open, and I did a 5K walk this morning when it was damp and chilly (and drizzling). I don't think I'm technically sick.

I don't want to cancel the babysitter, only to feel better later, but I also don't want to go ahead and go and spend all kinds of money if I'm just going to be miserable.

What to do, what to do...

2. Go
It may turn out to be nothing serious. And if it does, it won't matter after a few beers.

;)

3. I'm leaning towards going. It's a beautiful evening, so...
even if we stay out only a couple of hours, I'll feel like I had a night out.

I'm thinking Spaten Octoberfest might be good for what ails me.

5. The Germans are a bit obsessed with punctuality.
Then again, considering the number of stores with Christmas decorations up, have we any room to talk?

6. Some people swear that Airborne works
I've tried it and can't really say that it works or not, but you're supposed to have it right when you feel that sore throat coming on. It was invented by a teacher you know. :silly:
