We bought our first color TV because we'd seen Star Trek on a color TV in a store window - people were standing around on the side-walk (in the UK) - and we'd never realized that the uniforms were all different colors!

4. I may have to google this, but I'd swear in a TV book covering Trek,

one reason why it survived its first season was because Trek helped bump the sale of color TVs. :)

RCA in particular, as RCA just happened to own NBC at the time...


RCA also invented color television, but if you ask me, PAL is far superior to NTSC... :evilgrin:

Every morning they play them at 6:00 on TV Land. It's the best stuff to watch in the morning :headbang:

I've noticed that Kirk makes out with a humanoid in over half the episodes lol

And I'm REALLY digging these remastered Treks. The Doomsday Machine was as gorgeous and exciting as any of the Star Trek movies.

but i will watch TNG if you make me (i refuse to watch the season with the alternate doctor lady though)

i haven't seen any of the other spinoffs.
