7. great pics!
i wish i was there! I miss the coast. The sights and sounds are so beautiful.

If I ever get a hold of a digital camera I will post some pics of the river where I live. It's spring-fed, crystal clear, and beautiful. (i saw a huge alligator snapping turtle the other day....his head was bigger than mine and it had moss all over its spiny shell!) We are lucky enough to have several endangered species that live only in the river and no where else, so it is protected by law.

:)

15. Why, yes, I did
I liked them so much it inspired me to dig up (literally) the cable for my camera, throw the pics on the PC, resize them, and post them!

The waves in Long Island Sound are not as impressive as the Pacific Coast, though.

And yes, that is my adorable little boy Sam studying the Sound and chasing seagulls there! :-)

And that I inspired all that activity!

Waves aren't the only things worth photographing, you know!

My kids are all grown up plus I don't see them very often...

They grow up waaaay too fast!

23. Wow!
It really cleared off down there in the South Bay!

It was still really cloudy here in the Valley when the sun went down.

Though I did get to see a lovely rainbow!

Unfortunately, all I had with me was my camera phone and the pic didn't work. :(

I also saw a deer up on Mulholland this afternoon, I think she was taking advantage of the fresh water! :D

Thanks for the pictures...they're lovely!

I saw the deer at about 1:30 and the rainbow at about 6:00.

First time sightings for both of those since I moved here!

The deer was eating leaves right on the side of the road, seemed wholly unconcerned with the cars going past. I have a feeling she's used to them.

The funny thing was, I'm so used to seeing them in Nebraska that I was like "Ooh! A deer!" and then about 30 seconds later..."A DEER?! WTF?!" ;)

The rainbow was actually REALLY bright, just as the sun was starting to go down. I was at the CostCo in Van Nuys, and everyone in the parking lot was ooohing and awwwwing at it. :D

28. Peggy!
Love the rolling, crashing wave pics!

Keep shooting (pics) ;)

Still storming here, with flood watch and warnings in at least two counties bordering on ours.

I made the finals in the contest, and that alone is satisfying, even though I know I won't be the winner.

The B&W Repeating Patterns is so intense...so different! Has been a great one this time 'round.

Be careful with the storm, OK?

Good for you, making the finals! I did that once too, and it is such a great feeling!

Your pictures show combinations of these elements. They are gorgeous, as usual.

There is something in pic number 3 that I can't identify.
