First A Thanks, Then An Update (Though Not Much Great To Report)

First, I want to say thank you with all of my heart to all of you, from every site, who have poured out your emotions, prayers, good vibes, or whatever else to myself, my wife and my family. I just got done reading so many posts and they really mean so much to me. I see posts from people that I've done nothing more than make their DU interaction miserable with me, yet they're there with open hands and open arms. And that means the world to me because no matter how hard I am here sometimes or how heated an argument, I've often said to people in PM's that I'd still do anything for anybody here if they ever needed me for anything. My hands are always outstretched and arms open for anyone. I don't hold grudges here towards anyone ever. It's just a message board that I have fun interacting with, and take value learning so much from. But it warmed my heart to see so many who I may have pissed off, not only offer their condolences and prayers but also so openly embrace me. But it doesn't surprise me. I know we're all beautiful people who care immensely for others, when push comes to shove. But thank you all so much for the wonderful posts. They have touched me and helped quite a bit.

Now for the update, there's not much positive news to give, unfortunately. But I'm still holding onto hope that tomorrow will bring some.

Right now she's stable, and all systems are hanging in there. Her blood pressure is a huge problem and she can't maintain it on her own at all. She has to be on two different blood pressure medications and each time they try and ween her off a bit, her blood pressure literally plummets. I saw it happen right in front of me and terrified me. I just kept seeing the numbers going down, down, and down some more. They played with the machine and finally, after 20 minutes of up and down experimenting, got her stabilized again.

She is in septic shock right now, which is why she has the problems with the blood pressure. Her vessels are all dilated or somethin like that. Problem is, they really need to give her a CT scan to see better what's going on, but they really don't want to while her pressure is this unstable and she needs the meds.

Her counts came back a little, though really not enough. In fact, they're worse then I thought they were. See, I thought she was .8 yesterday, but it turns out the doc had been confused. They actually had done another count the night prior, even though they had told me they weren't doing one till morning. It was that one that was .8. The one yesterday, in fact, had plummeted to .5 again. I didn't know that, and frankly I'm kinda glad. But now it's back up to .7.

Earlier tonight though, her hemoglobin and red cells started dropping again. They needed my consent for a unit of blood so I gave it to them and they put it in her. She tolerated it well and her hemoglobin is now back up. She was febrile earlier (fever) but for the last few hours she hasn't had one. In fact, I think her temp is as low as it's been yet. I'm hoping that's a good sign, but the doc said it might not mean much, cause the cells that assist in causing a fever may simply have been depleted and once they grow back, will cause a fever again. But who knows.

Her xrays from yesterday and today were inconclusive, as they said they the film wasn't so great. But from what they can tell the pneumonia either grew very little or not at all. I'm hoping, fucking HOPING that even with all the other failing shit going on right now that this means that the new antibiotics she was given during the day 2 days ago, are finally starting to do something. No one knows whatsoever, but dammit that's what I'm hoping for. I know it takes time for them to work, so maybe they just needed a little more time. I was so scared they were the wrong ones, but now I can at least have some hope that maybe they can, and will work. We'll just have to see.

They also gave her an adrenal stress test and found her adrenal glands were producing a slightly low amount of cortisol. So now they are supplementing her with that. Nothing to be concerned with, they tell me.

So that's where we're at. She's stable and hanging in there, but only as of yet minimal if any positive sign she's fighting it off. I hope tomorrow brings better news, though I have such a nauseous pit in my stomach thinking about what kind of bad news can also come. But I'm going to stay positive. I'm looking right at her picture right now that we took only a little over a week ago, of her new wig. She's so alive; so vibrant; so beautiful. It makes no sense how we went from that to this. In fact, I'm gonna stop for a second and see if I can upload it. Hold on really quick...

Ok, I'll put it below. Anyway, thanks again for all the wonderful responses. I love you all and I'm hoping beyond hope and praying beyond prayer that we get a miracle here. She still has a couple of days to mount a comeback and I have faith in her. She's a tough little cookie.
