13. I don't make them

...it's more of a defrosting and peeling thing. It's just the way they are sold in Scandinavia.

This link shows a picture of the shrimp before it's peeled and after. They are boiled, salted and frozen ...we usually eat them on open-faced sandwiches. They are salty and very chewy, I'm told by my children that they are an acquired taste.

I bought mine at IKEA, they sell them both peeled and in the shell. I think the "in the shell" taste more authentic.

So if I were to make a sandwich I would use a Swedish light bread, here I would use a light but firm bread....think the texture of pumpernickel. Spread with butter, a piece of Boston lettuce, the shrimp and a very, very thin slice of lemon arranged on top....or you could use lemon mayonaise.

However, I was lazy and I peeled them yesterday and was just eating them as a snack.

5. The verdict is in on the sun-dried tomato ravioli ( I have finished eating them )
and they were sub-par... I really couldn't taste the sun-dried tomato, but they were good, nonetheless...I mean, how on earth can anyone fuck up a ravioli? :9

6. My dear TK421!
I'm done eating for tonight, I hope!

Just finished dinner a little bit ago...

I'm supposed to be working on my take-home midterm now...*sigh*

In about half an hour, my husband and I will go turn on The War, which we are recording on the Tivo...

We delay so we can zip through any commercials or other crap that might show up...

Your supper sounds really yummy...

14. My dear California Peggy
The War is on PBS, so no commercials..

Which is why, this week, we will record the other programs - all new for the season - and watch the War in real time.

And it is wonderful, and touching, and sobering, even if you are not thinking of Iraq..
