Male Bostonians often annoy me, whereas female Bostonians I know sound good. The opposite is often true of New Yorkers. No wait, most NYers sound annoying.

54. That's what I've been told, anyway.

It's not as though people hear us speak and say "hey, you're from Washington, aren't you?"

I've traveled all over the country and the best guess anyone could come up with was "west coast" and that was usually because there wasn't any other regional accent in play.
