I NEED ANOTHER CAREER....RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!!1!!!!!111!!
x( OMFG, I'm at my wit's end. Burnout is nigh, and I can't stand to walk in the door in the mornings. You've heard me rant here before, but this is different. Remember how I've ranted about my predecessor being an idiot? Well, the auditors have confirmed this. The auditors have been doing their thing in the past three weeks, and yesterday I got the report that there were so many regulations that he violated that we'll probably have to give the Feds a letter of credit to satisfy them that no more idiots are working here. :grr:  :nuke: Oh, and guess who is currently trying to clean up his messes? Yeah, me. He breaks things all to hell, and I'm here trying to fix everything. :( I can't take any more of this. There has been so much more bullshit than I ever dreamed possible, and just when I think the crap is a little less deep, it just gets worse. :yoiks: I seriously need another career, and I'm seriously looking at the possibilities. I love working with students, but not like this. I can deal with a LOT, but I've reached my limit.

I have applied to another school in a different (and higher) capacity, so we'll see what happens. In the meantime, if you know of any fun careers that pay reasonably well, let me know. :P

On a lighter note, one of our employees can't spell worth a damn. A woman with the last name Butkus called this morning, and the message was written "Buttkiss". And she spelled the name "Hal" as "Howl. :spray:  I needed a good laugh!

7. Sounds like me, except my burnout is so high
that I'M the idiot predecessor that some future employee will be ranting about that way. I post more than I work while at work.

You want to team up and write a novel about the Lounge? Could be some material there...

9. I guess you can safely say that a run for the Presidency would be out of the question.
If you get burned out cleaning up atrocious messes...

As a blitzkrieging spelling-Nazi myself, I just had to laugh; "I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that", not: "I saw the best minds of a generation...", huh?

Hang in there, sweetie.

15. Definitely. If I think things are horrible here, I'd HATE to be the
prez who has to clean up behind Bush & Co. :puke: You could just shoot me now and get it the hell over if I had to do that. :P

10. I'd recommend my job, but (no offense) you might be too old
I'm a court reporter, and it's a great profession to get in to when you're young - like, under 30.

Once you get older though, it's really hard to learn it and then master the typing skill that's involved.

But you can make about $45 to $60,000 a year right out of the gate. So it's not that bad.

plus you can have all the free time you want. The only drawback is there's no health insurance and you have to take your own taxes out.

11. You could start
walking around with a large pair of scissors while
muttering under your breath and wildly looking around.
It will at least get people to leave you alone at work.

Cleaning up someone else's messes is a big pain. I know that one myself.
