Another trip to the vet for Prudence the Wonder Dachshund. (Gross Details within)
Edited on Tue Sep-25-07 07:55 PM by YellowRubberDuckie
She hadn't been feeling well the last couple of days, and today she has a little bit of diarrhea. After she was done, she was dragging her rear. Apparently her anal glands were full. So, off to the vet we went.
Poor baby girl. She's asleep in the chair beside me now. She feels much better though. She was back to her bouncing self right away. Now she's just sleepy.
Will you guys please send good vibes to my sweet baby? Her little German insides are just so sensitive.
Thanks.

Duckie

9. She has been very sweet tonight.
And sooo cute.
She's feeling better, but there's still something kind off about her.

2. Our little guy needs his anal glands emptied regularly
So, I got tired of paying the vet techs to do that and I asked them to teach me how. I now know how to express them and am happy I can do that before his bath.

Hugs to your little gal. It's got to be a tad uncomfortable.

3. I really hate it when she feels bad...
She's so cute and a ball of life when she's feeling good. I hate that she feels bad because she just kind of mopes around. It's depressing for her, I'm sure, too.

6. I really want another one, but Skip, my husband, is adamantly against it.
Prudence LOVES other dogs. We were waiting for the tech last night, and she was shaking horribly. This westie came over and sat down beside us and she stopped being scared. Every time she sees another dachshund, she just gets so excited. They are very calming to her. I think she needs a friend. Skip does not agree

7. Glands!! What was God thinking when S/He decided to do this to dogs?!
I'm sorry your beautiful little girl had to deal with this. I hope she feels better soon!

Oh, and the beagle sends vibes, too. Quoting her: "I can relate!!"

8. Thank you!
She is feeling better tonight, but dang, she's still not her self. There's still something off about her.
Poor thing hates the vet. Every time we go there, she gets something shoved up her butt. :evilfrown:

10. I knew just from reading the title this thread would mention anal glands
There isn't much grosser that I can think of, lol.

Vibes for your furbaby on their way.

11. sensitive insides and German do not compute
and how can one resist opening a thread that says "(Gross Details within)"?

Kidding aside hope she feels better. Do you know how to do anal glands? It isn't that hard if you can get past the gross factor and can save you a few bucks.
