Tyranny comes in many forms. Nothing is more tyrannical than school policies set without asking parents or students! I think policies in public school are one reason so many AMericans hate or mistrust the government!

6. Just got back in a bit ago... |

My daughter playing outside was just what we both needed.
Got a little chat time with the mamas, and my daughter will sleep well tonight.
In other news, today's homework only took 35 minutes. :eyes:

14. That's still WAY more homework than a 1st grader should have. |
|
Glad you got outside with her.
After I saw all the stupid bullshit they made my daughter do in kdgn, and after I then observed the 1st grade classrooms and saw that it got significantly worse, we pulled her out of school and have been homeschooling ever since. (This was 10 years ago, and I'm sure things are *much* worse now, since the testing mania has gotten even more insane since then.)

I got to reconnect with some of the mamas, and KWGirl got to run and play with sweet abandon.

Way back in the 60's; my 3rd grade teacher, Sister Patricia, would pile on the homework all day long. Every now and then at the end of the school day, she gave us one last assignment.
Go home. Eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Play outside until our parents called us in. Disregard all previous homework assignments.
We loved her. :)
