Bold world series prediction: Sox vs. Rox |
|
It will go down in history as the "battle of the exes", and it will also be the first Series to end in a tie, so that Rockymountaindem doesn't have to choose between his AL favorite and his NL favorite.

1. Well, I certainly like your view of things! |
|
Though I WOULD have to favor the Rockies in the series, just because I love the Rockies. This has been one hell of a run, and we STILL have a shot at winning the NL West division! Just amazing...

2. It's a much longer run than I realized |
|
Charlie Steiner said tonight the Rockies have the best record since May 22 in the NL.
And here I thought they'd just been beating the piss out of us for the last week. x(

3. Well, they sort of have... 6 of those 10 wins are against the Dodgers. |
|
Nothing personal, but I'm hoping for win 11 in a row tomorrow night.

We were officially eliminated last night, but for practical purposes the season was over when the Rox started their current streak by sweeping that doubleheader last Tuesday.
All I have left is the prospect of watching a down-to-the-wire pennant race — and since the Rox finish with Arizona, it looks like that's just what's gonna happen.

5. What's really killing me is that 1-9 road trip we had |
|
after our triumphant sweep of the Yankees in Coors Field. I mean, we lost four of those games in the last at-bat. If it weren't for that BS, we'd have a comfortable lead in the wildcard right now.

:nopity:
The Dodgers led the NL West on July 18. They then went into a 6-15 slide in which they hit something like .065 with runners in scoring position and dropped to fourth place. In that stretch was a 3-11 skid in which they were outscored 66-34.
That was pretty much the season right there.

7. OMG, that series would make my head explode! |
|
As a native New Englander, of course I'd want the Red Sox to win!
:dilemma:
As a transplant to the Front Range, of course I'd want the Rockies to win!
But then, no matter who won, my team would have won, so I guess it wouldn't be that bad no matter the outcome.

9. Yes, but the Padres and Phills both won last night |
|
The window of opportunity is quickly closing.
