My athlete's foot's on my right foot, been flaring up recently, and now I find that the area round my toes is now red, swollen, and hurts.
Great, I probably have cellulitis, and guess what? I don't have insurance. I can't afford to go get it looked at, much less afford afford antibiotics and antifungals to take care of the cellulitis and athlete's foot.

3. Move to the cream then |
|
And use the powder twice a day. Try switching meds. It's probably something on your floor if you walk around barefoot a lot. Wear socks inside for the next few weeks.

5. Two other things you can do is |
|
only wear 100% cotton socks and try to be barefoot for part of the day to let the air get to your skin.

don't let your fungus feet leave their germs around for other bare feet to pick up.

8. From a long-time sufferer: |
|
Sprays suck. They never seem to get the medicine where it is needed. Creams such as lamasil work better but make sure you keep using them for a week or so after all symptoms are gone.
I picked up a nasty case in a gym I used to belong and it literally lasted about four years. It would flare-up, I would get an over the counter cream or even a prescription, it would stop bothering me and I would forget about it until the next flare-up when the cycle would start again.
I have very dry skin and about a year ago I started using Gold Bond Medicated Lotion regularly on my feet and other parts. I wasn't expecting it to help with the athletes foot but low and behold, the symptoms haven't returned.

9. Might I also suggest Epsom Salt foat soaks |
|
http://www.care2.com/greenliving/use-epsom-salts-13-wonderful-ways.htmlMy grandmother recommended them for when the foot started to get a bit funky. And now that I have hardwood floors - I've just bought some Epsom Salts so I can start soaking my feet since they've started to get a lil funky themselves.
