Are you photogenic?

Not me. I've had maybe two or three good photos in my adult life. Which is a shame because I'm unbelievably good-looking.

In fact, my attractiveness is exceeded only by my unwavering humility.


How about you? Do you photograph well?

15. The reason I ask

I have a stinker of a friend who, along with her stinker of a husband, has never taken a bad photo. If they were any kinds of friends at all, they'd disfigure themselves just to make themselves less photogenic.

But will they do that for me? Of course not.

When I have my shirt off, you can see that I'm not quite fat... but I still have a little more in the 'love handles' area than I should. Unless I raise my arms over my head, then I look all muscly and stuff... but then it looks like I'm trying too hard to show off. :P

I was always told as a younger person that I was photogenic, meaning
I take good pictures. Not that I was stunning. I was average.

was of the broad side of a barn... :P

My grandpa has always been an amateur photographer, and he accidentally did a double exposure of a piece of film while taking a close-up and a long-distance shot of a barn, so it ended up with this nice landscape with a barn in the middle, but intermixed with the texture of wood grain all across it.

I hate having my picture taken, which is a prob because wifes family are pathologic 'time for another family picture' group. We always have holiday photo taken in the same room, same places. If you flip them in order you can watch us age.

It's totally frustrating--I'm not ugly, but I sure look that way in photos. One comfort: it's not my fault--it's a family trait--my mom and aunt (they're sisters) look hideous in photos as well.

The one thing that REALLY makes me nuts is when I try to tell my photographer friends that I am just not photogenic. They SCOFF and say there's no such thing...and then they take my picture. And then they shut up. HAH.

Candid shots of me are always terrible. No matter what I look like at any given moment, if you take a picture of me while I'm unaware, it WILL look awful. My face in repose looks harsh and angry.
