High heels
http://www.aidmyplantar.com/mallet-toe.php

I am constantly amazed at the number of men who profess to "love women" and then advocate the look of a woman in high heels.

I suppose if the woman is sitting down (or lying down) the harm to her foot is lessened, but these things are downright nasty.

1. Definitely not good for the feet! But I do think they look good.

They make my legs look good. And I love being taller. Just me though! I know I will regret wearing them one day!

2. I prefer flats.
I don't usually like the look of heels; some are sometimes okay.

But here, I reckon most of what women do for their appearance is NOT done for men. It's done to impress other women, in my opinion.

3. I couldn't really care less about impressing either. I like to feel good
about myself for me! But I do think that women dress for women lots of the time!

5. Right.
I think it's unfair to go blaming men for all the things that women do to themselves.

4. I don't think it's for other women... I think they really think it's for men...
the media does such a number convincing women that they have to do this or that to be attractive. It's just a bunch of crap.

8. Oh, for crying out loud!
Give people some credit for thinking for themselves, both of you! I wear what I wear because I like it - not because I'm trying to impress anyone else.

13. Same here...
When I play dress up, it's for my own reasons. I don't feel obligated to do any of that stuff.

10. Okay, this is not what MissMillie was talking about, but
do you have magazines in the States that exist just for celebrity gossip? That tend to be really bitchy about female celebrities, and God help any poor woman who dares exhibit the tiniest evidence of fat? That make fun of crazy fashion choices, bad hair days, etc, etc.? Men don't read these magazines. I'm pretty sure men don't write these magazines either. Men don't give a shit. But it seems to me that women love being really horrible about other women.

It isn't about us, I am sure of this. It has nothing to do with us or what men like.

12. Yup, we do... and that's exactly what I'm talking about...
the media (magazines) say that's what men like.

15. Yes, I've seen those mags
And what they're designed to do is play upon the female reader's insecurities. And they are very, very good at it.

I don't think I've looked at a "women's mag" in wow over 20 years.

6. Yikes! My grandmother's foot
looked just like that diagram. In fact, she had such bad bunions, she had to cut side holes out of her shoes. Not kidding.

I promised myself that I would never let my feet look like that.

I wear flats or athletic shoes most of the time. If I want to wear heels, I make sure it's a place I won't be on my feet for very long.

7. Gotta admit, I love heels
I love the way they look and the way they make my legs look. I love all the pretty styles of shoes you can find with heels. It has nothing to do with what men think, really, or (billyskank) with what other women think. I'm just a shoe junkie and I've always loved heels.

11. All I am saying is that men are being blamed for something here
and I don't think it's right. So it's not other women either. If you say it's so, then it's so.

18. I like a 2" heel, but it has to be a solid heel.
Stilettos are deadly.

19. There has only ever been one true aphrodisiac invented.
Nothing does for a womans legs what a pair of heels will do. But if she doesn't practice wearing them it can be quite funny, right up to the time she gets hurt.

My ladyfriend's daughter decided to buy some heels for a wedding we attended. When she tried to walk, she sounded like a horse and she looked like a first timer on stilts. It would have been really funny if not for the fear of her falling off them. She didn't make it halfway through the evening before the heels were off and I don't think she has ever attempted them again.

At the same wedding there was a woman who clearly had worn heels before, she was incredibly graceful. I pointed her out to my ladyfriend, and she gave me one of those "what are you doing checking out other women?" looks. However, in a couple of minutes she (ladyfriend) was whispering in my ear, agreeing how striking graceful the lady was. And every man in the room noticed her, even if they didn't acknowledged it to their SO.

Regards, Mugu

Keeps the shoes comfy.

23. I think plenty of women like the look of heels
I'm not saying men don't contribute to the situation, but I've asked numerous women over the years why they wear heels when they complain that they are so uncomfortable, and the response from these women is almost always something like, "But they make my legs look so much better," like I was silly for even asking.
