Why is it that ALL men always have to have both
Edited on Thu Sep-27-07 03:38 PM by LaraMN
an X AND a Y chromosome?

What? X's aren't good enough for you?
You're afraid to commit?
Can't have the same chromosome twice?

Sheesh.

:eyes:

I know. I'm dorking out. Embrace it.

1. In mammals, males are the ones with the different chromosomes.
In birds, it's the females that are different.

Trip out. :wow:

2. Wow. That's even trippier than the fact that birds can't smell things.
Birds are like aliens. Aliens who sing well.

7. If it makes you feel any better
since men have only one X chromosome (and the Y is smaller and different) men are much more succeptable to recessive traits which women's 2nd X usually compensates for (sex linked disorders they are called). That's why color blindness is almost always a male issue because the the gene is an x chromosome trait.....
Now thats a dorky response!;-)

10. I have to channel my inner dork periodically.
Otherwise it leaks out at inconvenient times.
