The Invisible Fence...the pups "graduated" today. |
|
I posted about this a while ago. I live in the woods, on 17 acres of land. There are all sorts of critters in the woods and the deer come into my field to graze every am and om. My dogs started bolting into the woods about 6 weeks ago and would be gone for hours. They would always come home but covered with muck. They obviously found their favorite swamp or wetland. Since I could not seem to break them of this myself and since hunting season was coming, I decided to get the Invisible Fence.
They came about a month ago and installed the fence. It didn't take more that a couple of hours and they damaged nothing. Along with the fence, I bought the full training package...14 sessions with my dogs. I had two trainers, Diana and Michelle, who alternated. These two young women had experience with obedience training and, boy did they know dogs! I was able to be at the first 4 sessions but not at the rest. I took time off today to be at the "final exam." Michelle came with her dog...a "temptation" they call it...my dogs raced around with him but never breached the fence. Michelle then had me get in my car and drive away. My dogs are never not with me, especially in the car. They went right to the fence following me and then stopped, backed away and sat down and waited for me to return. We tried everything to get these dogs to breach the fence and they didn't.
I am very impressed with this company. There are a number of fence companies out there but this one was the original. I would recommend them to anybody who is worried about the safety of their pet although I will warn that I would never leave my dogs unsupervised for any period of time, fence or no fence, but this has certainly made me feel safer. I would also recommend that if you go to the trouble and expense to get the fence, get the training they offer. There are some training tricks that I would never have thought of.
