The weather outside is DEADLY right now. |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 07:33 PM by northwest
-26 with a -48 wind chill.
We're getting some major snow here on Saturday. But the good news is that the temp will rise to ABOVE ZERO FOR THE FIRST TIME IN A WEEK!!!!
Meanwhile, the high tomorrow will shoot up to -11. Above -20 for the first time in FIVE FUCKING DAYS.
After Saturday, they're "saying" that we'll be in the scorching single digits. But I doubt that. I bet we'll be going back to -25 in a hurry. It's dangerous to stay outside for more than 15 minutes right now. I spent over a half an hour shoveling my car out of a snow pile last night, and I started feeling hypothermic when I came inside.
BTW, we're expected to shatter our record low tonight of -28. Welcome to North Dakota. Hope you enjoy your stay. (No wonder nobody wants to live here)

1. Believe it or not, this is global warming. |
|
It doesn't mean we all get warmer, it means more extreme weather in all directions.

Here in GF, I have spent the whole damn day trying to start my car. I was hoping I might be successful once it got UP to -20, but so far no luck.
But, I just walked down to Hugo's and got some starting fluid...wish me well!

3. I haven't been able to start my car for days. |

Luckily, I don't really need to go anywhere off campus until Monday. I have to park at the Fargodome lot while they plow my residence hall lot after the snowstorm this weekend. Hopefully, I can get a jump from my parents when they get into town tomorrow.

If it is, it might have frozen. Bring it indoors if at all possible. (I had mine charging in the bathtub today, and no I am not a redneck :) )

5. checking in from West Dakota - nasty here and every time they say 2" |
|
of snow, we get 12. We don't normally get much precipitation at all in this county and we have had a cloud over us like the dust around Pigpen!
Is the sun still there? Looked at the roof and there is a good 2 feet of snow drifted on it. Good thing we get the dry kind! The dog is having a hard time hoisting his hiney high enough to do his dog bid-ness and I am out of ideas as to where to put the snow. And is is coming down with a vengence again out there but it is a toasty -6 out and the wind is only bringing the chill factor to a -26. Glad I am a 'townie' and don't have to go out and feed cows.

It's definitely a good thing you're a townie. I bet the ranchers have it a lot worse right now. Especially in the NW part of the state.

The kitties and I send lots of Polartec, hot beverages, headbutts, purrs and the hopes that North Dakota will warm up a bit in a big hurry.
