1. Earl is great fun, but...

Steve Carrell has created another of those characters I just can't bear. I just can't watch him be such an incredible asshole-- he's managed to make it too real, and that's scary, not funny. Maybe some of it hits home.

Jamie Pressley, OTOH, helps make Earl one of the best things on TV. I've seen her in a lot of stuff, and she's got so much energy the screen just sparkles when she's on.

I find "The Office" a bit more tolerable than
the British original, but still not tolerable
enough to watch it. I gave it my standard
3-episode test period, and that was all.
