The trip was incredible - I hadn't been through the Rockies in the fall before. With the exception of Jasper's centennial, we pretty much had the road to ourselves. It was really, really beautiful.

There wasn't a stop in Calgary, it was Canmore straight to Drumheller. Btw, what the hell happened to Deerfoot Trail? Last time I was on it (admittedly quite a while back), it was a freeway. Now there's traffic lights every 10 feet! :wtf:

Judging by your route, you may be thinking of 16th Avenue, which, yes, is a mess right now. Deerfoot goes straight through, and they're opening the new bridge on Hwy. 22X today, which will help even more.
