PayPal????

I've had a PayPal account for quite a while and have bought/sold items via Ebay using it.
I have never sold anything of much value using my PayPal account.

Just now I sold a 1200 dollar item. Not on Ebay, but I used my PayPal as the vehicle for the transaction.
The buyer sent $1200 to my PP account.
I am in the process (3 to 4 days according to PP) of transferring the money to my bank's checking account.

My questions:

I do not want to send the item before I know the money is secured?
Is this money secured?

In other words, am I safe to ship this item right away or should I wait until the money is transferred into my other account?
Does it matter?


I didn't worry about it on $100 or so items but $1200 is a chunk of change.

1. I would check with paypal because I think

the buyer may be able to cancel his or her payment if the money has not been transferred out of your paypal account.

2. Dear Shred,

I would tell the buyer that you are waiting until the money transfer has been completed to ship the item. Unless they need the enormous bong collection and the Rush Limbaugh blow up torso with the eyes like Satan right away, I am sure they will understand.
