I got one of those fishing emails today. |
|
The first time I've ever gotten one. From "Band of Americas" telling me that someone was trying to break into my online account and that they were concerned about my safety and that I should email them all my account numbers, passwords and personal information. Yup, sure, here it is!!!
The strange thing was that this email came to my office email account and I work for a municipality and I only started two weeks ago. I do have a BankofAmerica credit card.
How stupid do these crooks think we are???
Someone told me that I could report this to the credit card company. Has anyone ever done this?

1. I have tried and tried to report this abuse |
|
to the card companies -- I get several of these emails every day. I now just bounce them back to the sender and hpe they give up on my email address... Once you go to their web site and peek around, they will haunt you till your dying day. The credit card companies do nothing about this.

2. I didn't go to their website. I just opened the email...something |
|
I would not do on my home email account. Here, I usually delete anything I don't recognize and don't even open it. But because this came in on a public email, I thought I should at least open it.
Amazing that the companies don't care about this, but maybe if you get scammed into giving a crook your info, the credit card companies won't cover it.
