I just met Elizabeth Edwards!
Ask me anything!

I took some video as well, but I'm having trouble getting them off my camera for some reason. If I ever figure it out, I'll post those as well.

Anyway...

Yes, she is as smart and genuine in person. Even more so, actually. She fielded some really tough questions on health care, Iran and education...and she was able to recall numbers and statistics without even pausing. Amazing.

1. Glad you had a good time but why
is it amazing that she knows facts?

If anyone reads that info enough times, they'll also remember
it and she's a bright woman, so I'm not surprised at all.
I saw her on Rachel Ray's show and she comes across as genuine.

2. It's not amazing that she knows them...
But there's a difference between knowing them and being able to remember them at will.

I don't know about you, but I find it difficult to recall exact statistics at the drop of a hat. I consider myself to be otherwise intelligent, but there's something about being able to drag up a statistic with no prompting whatsoever and no notes is just beyond me.

3. My dear huskerlaw!
Oh, very cool!

I'll bet she's really interesting to hear speak...

A brave lady for sure...

I know she'd make a terrific First Lady!

Thanks for posting!

4. You're welcome!
I'm really hoping I'll be able to post the videos.

In one she talks about why John picked Gravel when asked "which candidate would you most want to be stranded on a desert island with?"

Not only is she smart, she's funny too!

:D

5. She looks great in those pictures.
She was looking rather wan on Olbermann tonight. I hope she's not overdoing it: I'd like to see her stick around this planet for a long while.

6. Actually...
she probably looked like she didn't feel good because she spent the day at someone's house...and that someone had cats...and she's allergic. The poor thing was coughing and sneezing throughout the speech, but she's not ill, she was just having an allergy issue. ;)
