Bittersweet feelings about October
Halloween and trick or treating is fun with the kids :D

My marriage basically ended 2 years ago in October and is now just awaiting the paperwork. :(

My daughter's 7th birthday is next week. :D

Another meaningless wedding anniversary (12 yrs) is later this month. :(

My mom's birthday is later this month :D

How I love a good roller coaster ride :sarcasm:

2. I know how you feel.
My former wedding anniversary is coming up real soon. But I've got a sister born in this month. Still doesn't even out though.

3. We love October for all those reasons...
wedding, tree color, Halloween, the way the sun look, the smells, the beauty of an October sky, the sound of a warm afternoon...etc.

We hate October for one reason - it means winter is closer

My hubby and I will celebrate a 17th wedding anniversary Oct 13..PEAK leaf time.

7. You have my empathy.
I had my 17th anniversary on August 25th and though it didn't go unnoticed it did go unremarked. A few days later it was the STBE's birthday and we attempted a lame celebration. Then my son had his birthday and again, we tried to get together as a "family." It's tough and it'll always be tough but what the hell. Life is full of all kinds of weird, wonderful and horrible shit and we have to participate! Congratulations on surviving to the two-year mark. I know very well that struggle.

9. October for you sounds like February for me
I love October (I loved it more when I lived where there are fall colors). I love the cooler temperatures and having the kids back into the routine of school. I got sober in October. etc.

14. February's bad for me too
My divorce was final 2/4/02 and I turned 41 on the 25th. I've had pneumonia, broken bones and all sorts of disasters find me in February. I'm just glad it's a short month, otherwise I'd have ended it long ago. ;)

 RL. I hope someday October brings you wonderful memories instead of pain.

10. I love October,
the beginning of hockey season, the trees turning gorgeous colors, and Thanksgiving (one of my favorite holidays) is less than two months away. That being said, I think I would love it more if it wasn't the lead-in to the dark, freezing abyss that is winter.

12. this time of year is like that for me
I don't have the hallmarks with it that you do, but dang, it sure feels like the word bittersweet was invented for October. Elated about it not being so blasted hot, yet dreading the cold of winter. Enjoying all the beautiful fall leaves, but knowing it's because things are dying. I feel instense non-specific nostalgia every year about this time; sometimes it can be a slippery slope.

When reprehensor gets up here and we get a decent pad, future Octobers among DUers in the Milwaukee Metro area will not be the same.

Our party-giving abilities are becoming legendary. That'll keep your ass from being depressed!

Unfortunately, this Halloween is going to be a downer by comparison since mah hunny and all my cool toys are still in Tejas. We should have an October meetup since everyone bailed on the one a few weeks ago. Just to cheer up our RL!

19. If I ever marry it will be in October.
I just can't imagine compromising on it--fall kicks ass, and peak leaf season is the ONLY time to be married for me.
