actual air temperature is -19, sure to go to -20 or -25 by sunrise.
it gets colder the further north you go.
St. Cloud, -25; Brainerd, -28.

this is insane.
they should just shut the state down.
it has not been this cold in 7-10 years. The entire state is in double-digits below zero F.
a lotta little kids have never experienced this.

the other night when it was around 10, the moon was out, there was an inch of new snow and it was a very nice night for a walk, listening to the crunch under your boots.

this is like living on the surface of Jupiter.

3. Sorry, 7 degrees and snowing AGAIN here in Cleveland...

I realize that's probably a heat wave to you (you really CHOSE to live in Minnesota?), but we're going on our 3rd week of below-20 weather here and I'm friggin' SICK of it.

I swear to friggin' God, I'm retiring to Costa Rica and I'm NEVER gonna see snow again.

4. Memories of home...

I spent the first 31 years of my life in rural Hugo, MN. Believe it or not, I loved winter, even when it was that cold. I did dress for it though. Picture one 'o them burly types traipsing through the snow, that was me.

I moved to Yuma Az. Its a balmy 51 degrees here now, 3:24 AM AZ time. Winter here this year seems abnornally cool. During the summer it gets to...well, I have been in 127 degree weather. I guess its all relative 'till it gets dangerous.


A glimpse of my environment...ok, here goes. 51 degrees now. Somehow it seems colder than 51 though. Dunes as far as the eye can see in some directions. Its still though.

During the day, its hitting around 70. Bare feet is workable, but you have to watch out for fire ants and goat heads.(similar to a sand burr)

I miss Minnesota.
