2. where to start.......... |
|
saw just about everything......Big Ben, Westminster Abbey (really beautiful inside), Kensington Palace, Windsor Castle (loved it), the roman baths at Bath (I would sure love to go back there, absolutely beautiful), Canterbury Cathedral (on a day trip), the white cliffs of Dover, went to Greenwich and stood on the meridian line......went to Leeds Castle.....Abbey Road......went on the London Eye.......walked 500 stairs(?) to the top of St. Paul's Cathedral........went to a few of the parks in the city.......Hampton Court Palace (Henry VIII's old spread), the Tower of London.....
the museums were awesome, went to a few art galleries as well. Loved the National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery. Went a few antique places in Cecil Court......saw the pigeons in Trafalgar Square.
that's it for starters I guess. :)

5. This summer I attended a conference that had its opening reception |
|
in the Roman Baths (or rather, alongside them--it was not a pool party.)
Sounds like you had a great time.
If only the exchange rate weren't so bad, if the dollar and pound were near a 1 = 1 exchange rate, I'd probably go every summer.

7. Isn't it a great place? |
|
Were the prices outrageous? The USD exchange rate sucketh right now, you are a bit better off with the loony.

10. Not as bad as it could have been....... |
|
I didn't eat out in fancy restaurants.......and didn't buy any clothes, except for a top for my Mom. :)
Pret a Manger came in handy, for good sandwiches and soup on the go. My bed and breakfast served a full english breakfast every morning, so that was good and filling. :)
