1. Kitt Peak still works.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitt_Peak

The Kitt Peak National Observatory (KPNO) is a United States
astronomical observatory located on a 2,096 m (6,880 ft) peak
of the Quinlan Mountains in the Arizona-Sonoran Desert on the
Tohono O'odham Nation, 88 kilometers (55 miles) southwest of Tucson.
The observatory is considered to be part of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory
(NOAO), although some of the telescopes located here, like those at the MDM Observatory,
belong to other groups such as the University of Arizona's Steward Observatory.
With 23 telescopes, it is the largest, most diverse gathering of astronomical
instruments in the world.

7. I love that song........I played it on a jkebox the other day
and the lady next to me hated it! Even got in an argument about it too. So funny. Then I played a Willie song and she was all happy.

4. The musical industry works like a fuckin' charm, cranking out their shit
at a remarkable rate, without any defective product (that is, creative, different, compelling, or challenging).

That's one thing that works fucking perfectly.

8. I think it's almost irrelevant
when all these indie artists can peddle their tunes on myspace for 99 cents...I mostly like lesser known artists so myspace and download sites are like a boon to me, I hope the artists continue to get out from under the vultures.

Jeez.

What have you been smoking?

It's there to engineer "musical product" for an American populace that wallows in the feces of its own ignorance.

23. I love the USPS
I've mailed literally 5,000+ packages via Priority in the past 5 years and had only three lost. One turned up three months later at my customer's address just beat to hell but the contents were re-wrapped in bubble wrap. We couldn't believe it. They are just awesome.
Now UPS...nevermind.

Also Fed-Ex. In spite of all the complaining about the mail, I always receive packages on time. UPS, Fed-Ex, the United States Postal Service are all fantastic.

31. Except for those long waiting lines...
..that's their downfall. Sometimes a 45 minute wait at the post office near me. I dread going there. I have written and complained, but nothing changes, and they don't care. They may claim to care how long you wait in line, but the truth is they don't care how long you wait. The only way to avoid it is to go to a very large post office, with lots of clerks.

20. Investment Markets
Edited on Tue Oct-02-07 08:00 PM by Mike03
I'm not saying this is "right" or "wrong," but an intelligent person can still put his or her money to work and aggregate compound interest. Even when the markets perform poorly, there are ways to profit from downturns. This is a skill I think is necessary to have, particularly now that the dollar is losing its value.

Generally, I still think good art sneaks through--some great novels and films are still produced.

In spite of the repugs underfunding, so the private sector can step in to "Save" them, the NP system is fantastic. Much better than the Forest Service, who seem to be whores for industry.
