Physical injuries are fascinating in a twisted way.
I thought I just stubbed my toe on the godawful mess in my sons' room. Actually thought I removed a toenail, but then the pain subsided...and then started up again. Over the course of the next hour the top of my toe turned purple and I realized I had bruised it and removed a thin layer of skin. The pain became severe and only 3 ibuprofen and a couple glasses of chardonnay made a dent. Then it turned into a black band with the bruise going all the way around my toe. Sheesh, all I did was drag my foot along one of those stupid plastic storage bins.

Now I am contemplating stuffing this swollen toe into a shoe to board an airplane for 9 hours and then sightseeing non-stop for the next three weeks. Oh joy! I guess this isn't the day to give up drinking, sniffing glue, and whatever else McCroskey was into. :)

Have you ever been oddly fascinated by one of your own injuries and thought, "wow, I never predicted it would have done THAT!?"

7. Character chopped off her toe to see it grow back. Sounded vaguely familiar.
