Everyone was a dick on the road today! |
|
Including me. :(
I hate it when it's like that. There seems to be a definite vibe to the road each day. Some days everyone is nice and tranquil; nobody drives up anybody's arse or cuts in front of anyone. And then other days everyone's driving like a F1 driver, or worse, like a British Touring Cars Championship driver. :scared: Today was one of those days.
I wonder if it's because maybe one idiot pisses off one person, who goes and pisses off somebody else, etc. etc. etc.

4. Don't think it's on right now |
|
We learned in the papers two weeks ago that Richard "I am a driving god" Hammond has just crashed a Bugatti Veyron. Sounds like they are filming a series right now.
They really should learn not to let that guy near any cars. A year ago he nearly gets killed in a jet powered dragster, and now he crashes a $1,000,000 sports car...

What a prat!
I've seen that video of him driving one on the test track in Germany, but haven't heard about the crash.
When was this? And where?
As my ex used to say: "Stupid boy.":wtf:

the guy driving on the track didn't crash it, it was the little hamster looking guy - who also crashed a rocket car and damn near killed himself

21. That was James May, aka "Captain Slow." |
|
They thought it would be appropriate to get Captain Slow to see if a Veyron could actually do its purported top speed.

2. Sometimes I feel as if we're on a NASCAR track in the mornings |
|
Just pick a fucking lane and stay there. Don't tailgate. Don't cheat in the carpool lanes till the last second. NAFTA trucks, get the hell out. If it's raining, slow the fuck down and leave more stopping space. DON'T SPEED. And on and on and on.

8. I want to retire in an old town.... |
|
...where they only have the six foot wide roads and you can walk to everything. There were a lot of small towns like that when I lived in Spain but I'll probably be moving and searching south of the boarder for a small town or village in Mexico. I hate driving period! When I lived in Germany I didn't own a car the entire time I was there. Public transportation was the best I've ever seen anywhere of all the places I've lived.

10. A friend of mine has just given up her car. |
|
I think that is so right on. I am trying to work out if I could manage it. I probably could - although there is also the illusion of freedom that the car holds which is very difficult to shake. I know that in many ways one is freer without a car, but the impression is very deep. We'll see.

"they turn 'em all lose on the same day." (Referring to a lunatic assylum.)
My personal observation has held that this is true. All the insane people and those with commitment-worthy anger and agression issues seem to be out on the same day. *sigh*

20. I go by the 'what comes around goes around' driving method |
|
I flash people to let them in (usually), in the hopes that they'll do the same thing for someone else. I think it improves the general driving experience (at least for me).
