In about a month or two, that will be changing to winter in Wisconsin.

44. lol will you pay in body aches what you gained in getting rid of the heat?
not knowing how cold vs heat affects your condition it is hard for me to fathom. Cold bothers my fibro much more than heat although I hate being HOT.

but you can always put on more clothes, and get electric foot warmers, etc when it is cold. There are limits to what you can do in the heat

Although all things considered, this summer has been pretty nice.

unlike last summer

I have been sick all week with a nasty cold, possibly mild flu, ran into me like a train Saturday night and laid me low.

yuck.

and how are you!

Sorry you're not feeling well, sweetie!

I've been great! Got to Madison last weekend for research and already knocked down 2 stubborn brick walls! So it was totally worth it! Will probably head to the Milwaukee library this weekend to try to figure out what happened to two other folks I need to find (possibly 4).

The cool weather has been SO great for my health. I had turned into such a slug down there. Never got off the couch because I couldn't go outside. I've been walking the dog 3 times a day, AND eating better stuff from the organic co-op. I've already lost 8 pounds! :D

I've stocked up on some nice sweaters with my Coldwater Creek and J. Jill coupons. Will head to Eddie Bauer with my next paycheck. My friend at work has recommended the "Toasty Toes" for work (http://cgi.ebay.com/Toasty-Toes-Portable-Foot-and-Leg-Warmer-by-Indus-Tool_W0QQitemZ190159382800QQihZ009QQcategoryZ115963QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem). Think I'll get one of those! And an electric blanket for the bed, space heater for the bathroom, etc.

I'm doing great. Just lonesome, although I've hung with some of the Milwaukee DUers, and met RetroLounge at his bookstore the other night. Al's hoping he can list the house this weekend. Keep your fingers crossed!

And feel better!

I tried to get it together to go in today, but the thought of being nice to people all day just isn't getting it.

is J JIll any good? WW is giving out these coupons at meetings and there are a bunch of them laying around on the table. Want me to snag some for you? I don't think we have any J Jill around here. ..or is it a mail order only place?

PM me about that and tell me where to send them

Oh and how fun to go to RetroLounge's bookstore!!!! I'm jealous.

Hey, congratulations on the 8 pounds off! That alone will make you feel better!!!! I bet Fargo the Great loves the cooler weather too. Hug that big hairy beast for me willya? Do you still have those old party photos from Halloween 2 yrs ago? I could use one for my Before and AFter poster when I make goal in Weight Watchers. That was about 2 weeks after I started WW as I recall. LOL you might not recognize me on the street if you saw me.

51. Oh don't worry about the coupons.
I have plenty because I usually get the latest issues of Martha and some of the other mags that have monthly coupons in them. You should use them yourself!

I know there's a J. Jill in Firewheel. I'm not sure about your neck of the woods. Maybe Hulen? They are NOT only mail order. We have one here in Mayfair Mall, so it's very close. I like it better than mail order cuz I have a devil of a time finding pants that fit and look good. Their stuff is the very relaxed, comfortable "hip thirties to forties woman" stuff that I like.

I think I may have the pix on my laptop at home. I'll try to check. If they're not there, I have a CD of pix at home that I cleaned off the old laptop awhile back. I'll try to see where we put them.

Will give Fargs a big ole hug for ya. We went to the park yesterday to hang out. He dug it. Plus, we have a little park right across the street, so he enjoys chasing the bunnies that live there. :D

Nothing to look forward to but months and months of cold weather. And though I've been out of school now for many years, there are probably still some afterechoes of the yearly "back to school" trauma that mess me up at this time of year.

28. I shall fire the first shot in this year's WAR ON CHRISTMAS!!!!
Muhahahhahhahaha.

I hate Christmas. It's a season now. Actually, it's more than a season long nowadays. It's half the damn year. They start selling Christmas-y stuff before Halloween candy even gets on the shelves any more.

Christmas depresses me. Always has. Well, since adulthood, it has depressed me. For me, Christmas is always spent fighting the visions of a Glock to my head by my own hand. I despise the way I feel about it, but it's truth. I cannot hide it or fight it any longer.

Peace on Earth. Goodwill toward men, my ass. It's more like, "Move outta the way, Bitch, I saw that Tickle Me Elmo first and my little snot eater's getting it, not yours." What a brutal exercise in some of the worst uncivilized behavior packaged in peaceful hippy clothes Christmas is.

So, I am, hereby, firing the first shot in the WAR ON CHRISTMAS this year. Muahahhahahahah!!!!

Well, it IS my least favorite time of year.

The general warm-fuzziness of the holiday season is over, but it's still freezing and dark and generally miserable. By that time, I'm itching for warm weather and baseball and spring break, and those are two VERY long months.

Not this year, it has been below normal.

Before I came here, it was what passed for deep winter in Nashville because driving on all those hills is very scary when it gets icy and stuff.

Those cold, whipping winds, you're so freakin' tired of the cold weather. And still at the end of March, there were plenty of years where it wasn't particularly warm and spring-like.

Now that I'm in North Carolina, I'm really hating summer. Too hot to be comfortable, the drought, ugh.
