The Matrix is THE most overrated movie in the history of the Earth
Other than some cool looking special effects, what was in that movie that was so fantastic?

The horrible acting? The thin plot? I just don't get it.

I'm thinking it was a geek fantasy for all the tech-heads out there. That's the only conclusion I've been able to come up with.

2. Ishtar is to The Matrix what Roger Rabbit is to Howard the Duck.

4. The Matrix is a great movie IF YOU REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE...

14. Word to your Neo.
Loved, cherished the first one, spit on the graves of all involved with 2 and 3.

Oh and worst movie? Sorry, but "here's a ditty, 'bout George Luc-us, made a pile of dung called Phantom Men-us."

5. Nope. "Scent of a Woman".
It even won Academy awards, and it was a shallow, manipulative, badly acted piece of crap.

7. Never thought it was that great
It was a good premise that went wrong. Not horribly wrong, just wrong. I still enjoyed watching it though, for the pure entertainment value.

8. most folks I know liked it for the political content
not much praise for the acting, plot, or even special effects.

I guess it comes down to which color pill you choose to take

As a movie that is.

Also the effects were pretty groundbreaking..

Say what you want about part 2 and 3 but the original Matrix owns

...and I was really excited about seeing it when it first came out. I started dozing off near the middle of it. Afterwards, I realized that one of the reasons I didn't like it was because I had seen it before. It was called "Total Recall". Man realizing that his life isn't real, hooks up with a band of revolutionaries, there's a turncoat in the group, and both movies even a have a psychic. Another thing I really hated about The Matrix was the slow motion action sequences. Slow motion robs action scenes of their momentum and make them really boring to watch.

18. Thank you.
I'm glad that someone else out there realizes that The Matrix and Total Recall are very similar movies. People look at me like I have two heads when I make that observation.

19. This is the home of the ORIGINAL "most overrated movie" thread.
Don't be fooled by those imposter threads (Gone with the Wind, ET, etc.)

Remember stealing threads is a crime!

22. My thread spoofing attack was in itself a spoof.
Weird, huh. I think if we had one more layer of spoof then we'd go back in time.

That time traveling thing is fraught with potential disaster. So, if you spoof again and go back in time, be VERY VERY careful.

26. I went back in tiime to stop the assassination of President Gore...
And when I got back I turned on CNN. Now, I'm really confused. Who's this Bush guy and how'd he become President?

Everyone knows that Bush lost in the primaries to McCain and that McCain then defected to the Democrats and became Gore's VP....and well you know your history.

Now, you've ruined everything. We were nearing utopia and then you went and spoofed again. I hope you're happy!

Why 27?

'Cause it sound more evil than 26, of course!
