A quick update on my fitness journey |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-03-07 08:53 PM by LuckyTheDog
Several of you were kind enough to send along good vibes regarding my new effort to shed pounds and get into better shape.
Here is a quick update: two weeks into my Weight Watchers program, I am down 6.8 pounds. Considering how much I have to lose, that's not much. But it's a start. Already, some of my "fatter" pants fit better. And I can stay on the elliptical machine at the gym longer than I could a couple weeks back.
Keep those good vibes coming!

15. I finally believe it can be done! I've lost 51 |

pounds so far. It takes time and commitment and exercise (as you well know I'm sure).
Hard work. Blech.

4. rock on! 6.8 in 2 weeks on WW is great. I did about the same |
|
by my second week. YOU CAN GET THERE> I have lost 58.8 pounds on WW and am feeling better than i have felt in years (except for the occasional nasty cold of course) My weight loss journey began just about 2 years ago. A slow progress is a healthier progress.
I learned not to worry if I stayed level for 2 or 3 weigh ins because those were usually followed by a 2 or 3 pound loss. Take Measurements I didn't and I wish I had done so. I still have one pair of jeans from before I joined WW and I have considered stuffing them and measuring them then comparing with my real measurements now. They were 18's and now I wear 10's, some of the 10's are getting loose. \ I have cooked a lot from their cookbooks, and the Etools is wonderful
Congratulations on taking this step for your future!!!!!!

7. while the scale can be a usual measure |
|
don't let it be the only measure. How things fit and how you feel are even more important than what the scale says.
Keep up the good work!

I do the elliptical machine about 15 minutes, followed by about 10 minutes on an exercise bike and a cool-down walk on the indoor track for 15 minutes or so.
I think I am at the point where I could do 20 minutes on the elliptical machine, but I was advised not to push it.

And YES 6.8 pounds is awesome.....
next time you are in the store go to the meat department and see what 6 lbs of ground beef or any other meat looks like..... You will be surprised at how much it really is.....

I have found, in my new fitness regime, that it seems I'm slogging along getting nowhere and then bam! everything changes overnight. Keep at it.
