I just found out i'm gonna be a great grandfather
My granddaughter is expecting. Due date is sometime in April.

Can't help thinking what kind of world this child will grow up to. I fear we haven't done a very good job of taking care of the earth for his/her generation.

Nevertheless we are all happy for her and her husband, They've been tryin for a couple years and they are overjoyed.

1. Congratulations!!
My sister is due in April as well. :)

They finally had in vitro with a donor egg, but my sister is finally pregnant and she is delighted.

It sounds great to have four generations present at once.

2. My dear tularetom!
Biggo congrats on your impending great-grandchild!

Also, congrats on your 4200 posts, done with this thread!

My daughter was the first great grandchild to my maternal grandmother, and she was thrilled!

Enjoy the baby!

3. Congrats!
April....? (date?)

Maybe this baby will be part of the generation that makes the greater difference for the good that we are trying to facilitate even now.

5. Congratulations!
Great-grandchildren are (in my experience) yet another chance to see life through new eyes. I have one who recently turned 5. She called me the other day to tell me she knew something new "by heart" and wanted to recite it for me. It was the Pledge of Allegiance. It made me realize anew why we have to keep on 'keeping on' to rebuild the pride we once had in our country- so that that pledge regains the same pride that I heard in her little voice.

Your great-grand baby-to-be will be blessed by all the love and knowledge you have to share...and, because (alas) there will always be a need for people who stand for the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Rule of Law and Justice, you will have helped to shape someone who will carry on the journey to a better future.

6. Congratulations! There will always be strife and trouble in the world,
but babies are new life, a new beginning to give us hope.
