I want to upgrade my memory chip. Are all the chips compatible with each brand of camera?

2. You'll need to determine what type of memory your camera takes |

Smart media? Flash? Memory stick?
After that, though, all brands of that type of media should be compatible with your camera.

Take your camera and/or memory card to the store you want to buy the chip from and match it.
Or, go to the CAMERA manufacturer's website and it will tell you which type. Once you know the type, the brand name of the memory is pretty much all the same.

Just make sure you get the same type (Compact flash, memory stick, etc.)
That said there are differences. I've had several no-name cards blow out on me. I stick to name brands now, like SanDisk and Lexar. Some cards are faster than others. The faster the card, the less time between shots. I just bought a SanDisk Ultra and it's great.
