Well, I don't think I have to worry about my religious 'friend' writing...
Or, perhaps, even talking to me, again.

Things came to a head after I wrote him an E-mail telling him that I was an atheist and didn't particularly care to hear his religious stories.

Well, he said and then I said and it went on. Finally I got very annoyed and said something that pretty much guarantees he won't write me again and probably won't speak to me again.

I'm not going to say it here because I don't want to offend anyone. If you want to know what was said please send me a PM and I'll tell you what I said to him.

2. Nah...I don't want to offend anyone...
Or start a religious debate that will end up in feelings being hurt.

3. atheists are interesting, but they always have such a cold affect
i could never date one. don't think i've ever met an atheist who comes across as warm and fuzzy (not that there's anything wrong with that)

5. I'm very warm and fuzzy...
I just don't believe that love comes from some mythical being.

7. My wife and kids would respectfully disagree with you
Or maybe not respectfully, but disagree they would.

I love all the ones I've met :loveya:

on edit- your remark could easily apply to most of the Christians I've met. Fortunately, my brush isn't quite that broad

9. perhaps that's true of the athiests you've met --
but there are a LOT of atheists out there, and it's a very bad misconception that because they do not believe in god, they are necessarily cold, or bitter, or angry, or soulless.

I know you meant no offense, but I humbly suggest you take care when discussing atheists and their demeanors.

11. not, bitter, angry, or soul-less
just...something. ok, SOMETIMES they're kinda bitter, but not always.

on the other hand, I've prolly met lots of atheists without even realizing it, and mebbe they were warm and fuzzy and soulful and cheery and whatnot

how big is the atheist community, anyway? what percent of the population---anyone know?

13. the same could be said of Christians
I've met plenty of bitter, angry so-called Christians, who are more happy about my ticket to hell than they are about their ticket to heaven. It's all about us getting what's coming to us.
