Secession......Talk me out of it!
I live in California. we have a lot of states right issues. We pay a ton of taxes and it leaves the state. We send out more of our tax money to other states than any other. We have a huge Medical marijuana issue with Federal laws. Water issues giving water to nevada and other states.
Obviously, the Federal Gov't is broken completely.

As the Soviet empire crumbled due to an endless war in the middle east, so will ours. But if CA seceeds, we can start to fix some of the things that are wrong. We can solve our problems in CA, but we can't solve anything at the federal level.

The same thing goes for most states. Seems to me Gov't works best on a smaller level.

4. Well, one of my ancestors got shot for trying about 150 years ago
The government didn't take too kindly to the attempt back then.

6. Here's the new map

Personally I don't think we have to merge into Canada. We can have the Western United States (California, Oregon and Washington), Eastern United States (New England and Mid-Atlantic States) and finally Great Lakes United States (states around the Great Lakes/Canadian Border). In the middle will be Jesusland

8. Let's give Indiana and Ohio a chance to change their ways...
...and join Great Lakes. West Virginia might be nice to have too. GREAT scenery.

9. How about if we make a 4 region out of those (and toss in Virginia)
that way if they don't improve they can make their alliance with Jesusland

7. Why not?
My opinion is rapidly becoming, hit the lifeboat while there's still room. I'd try and hook up with Oregon and Washington if it were me, though. Sort of a Greater California, or Westcostia.

13. It is sad that the red states suck so much state welfare out of the blue states
while they continually fuck over the country with their idiocy and religious lunacy.

If we treated the red states the way that they want to treat people on welfare, the poor, and immigrants, they'd be fucked. Thankfully, we take the *more Christian* highroad and help them out.

Of course, the irony is lost on them.

16. Hey, I'm willing to talk you INTO it
I think secession is a real possibility. Especially after the dollar crashes, the Federal Govt goes bankrupt and California ends up feeding the rest of the country.

I see a great secular empire stemming from California. One that will put Rome, Byzantium and Washington to shame. One that is part infotocracy and part meritocracy. But enough dreaming :)

19. I've got 618,000 good reasons.
At least, that was the body count the last time a state tried secession.
