The official make your own playing cards thread
Edited on Fri Jan-30-04 01:02 PM by Virgil
I did a search for "free clip art" with playing and cards and found a website at http://www.newtscards.com/design_a_card.asp that has all kinds of customized playing cards. They also have all kinds of variations of monopoly boards.

They will be selling packages of paper that have room for 8 cards per sheet that you can design using their template. The back will have a pre-printed design. A package will make 2 decks. I am just now undertaking the journey and thought this would be a great subject for a thread. They speak of a program that will be available some time in the future and I do not know if they have a program you can use now to do designs for when you can get stock.

Does anyone have experience with this website or any other that would make it possible to print your own playing cards? Does anyone know of any card games like solitaire on the Internet that lets you insert your own cards?

I would hope this thread would contain information in a concise way so that it is a one stop education for taking people who know little on the subject can carry a project through completion using some supplies and their own printer.

You can filter out unneeded replies by using the "ignore" feature that appears next to a person's name in their comment. It is the symbol with a small "z" in it.

It would also be nice to print any one card to an 8.5 by 11 piece of paper.

1. I'm interested
Me and my friends meet every Thursday night to play board games (Risk 2210, Puerto Rico, Age of Mythology, Warcraft, Tikal, Axis & Allies, Inkognito, Carcassone, Bohnanza, Citadels, and many many others)

Sometimes we invent extensions. This would come in handy. Forget the clip art, when will they be selling the paper?

2. I LOVE Axis and Allies
I had a standing game every Friday for 3 years while I was an undergrad. Me and the same group of guys would get together and play the same countries every time. It was so much fun. I was Russia and I must have refought the battles for Karelia and the Ukraine a thousand times.

Satuday nights, if we didn't find other trouble to get into, was Fortress America. We never once actually beat America at that game.

Thanks for bringing back a really good memory. :)
