I don't remember which military base we would have been at for that one. My dad was an Army helicopter pilot so it was probably Ft Bragg.

I love that photo of me and my mother. Life was simpler and relationships much less complicated.

82. Yeah, it was done by a German portrait artist in Frankfurt, where my Dad was

stationed after Vietnam. If you look closely, you can see where he inadvertently made the Army Nurse Corps caduceuses on the uniform into the German Federal Eagle! My Dad pointed it out, and the artist apologized and tried to correct the error. Still looks like the Bundes Adler to me, though. He did portraits of the whole family at the same time. A year later, after my brother was born, he did a portrait of him, too.
