Flame me if you want, but Leonardo da Vinci is a pretty decent artist
and inventor and LEFT HANDER

In an era when left-handedness was considered the devil's work and lefties were often forced to use their right hand, Leonardo was an unrepentant southpaw. It has been suggested that this "difference" was an element of his genius, since his detachment allowed him to see beyond the ordinary. He even wrote backwards, and his writings are easily deciphered only with a mirror.

2. proof of the Gay Agenda!
Further proof of the infamous GAY AGENDA, trying to push another homosexual artist down the throats of decent Americans! da Vinci's "David" is clearly an example of gay porn, and the Sistine Chapel with its nude Adam is just..

(huh? what? he didn't? MichaWHO)

Um (clears throat) never mind.

5. yeah well, Mikey boy wasn't exactly chasing the chicks
now was he?

My problem with Da Vinci is not his brilliance, but his complete and total lack of followthrgouh. He was seriously attention impaired, he never finished anything (except perhaps the last supper and mona lisa) nothing he designed was ever built, almost all the commissions he took were left incomplete over decades of time. he may have been a genius, but his genius was in flights of fancy, not grounded at all.

6. Well... In addition to being just about the smartest person ever...
... Leonardo is reported to have been a strikingly handsome man with great strength and a fine singing voice.

And unlike his fellow 15th-century Italians, he was a vegetarian and followed strict dietary rules. In fact, he loved animals so much that he would often buy caged animals at the market just to set them free.

7. DaVinci was a PNAC'er!!!
Don't you know anything? You just like him 'cause of all the nekkid boys he painted-I know your kind!

Actually, I love the fact that he frequently stood up to the Church even when it was his principal sponsor. His genius is astounding; I'll never forget how amazed I was when I first discovered that this incredible man, mathematician, sculptor, painter, and inventor was also most likely homosexual.

Check out what he, himself, had to say about sex and the penis...(they're some of my favorite quotes)

9. Must you be so controversial? This is a family paper.
Anyway, Leonardo ain't all that. "Titanic" was waayyy too long, "Gilbert Grape" was over-rated and "The Beach" was dull and misguided. You want to talk about an artist? How about Vincent D'Onofrio, whose "Starry Night," "Sunflowers," and "The Potato Eaters" are about as good as it gets.

11. Vincent D'Onofrio Is A Chameleon
I can't believe you neglected to mention one of his better-known roles.

12. I love Vincent...
but I was making a joke with the recent post. By the way, have you seen Vincent as Abbie Hoffman in "Steal This Movie"? Not a great flick, but he's super, as usual.

10. I had the AWESOME privilege of seeing an amazing exhibit @ the Louvre
last summer.... it was exclusively Da Vinci, and featured so many intimate details of his works.. just unimaginable drawings, sketches, detail work... I'm still stunned in the reverie.

Then in Lucca, Italy we had the pleasure of yet another exhibit of his inventions recreated! It was breathtaking...

I found a lovely print of one of his more obscure pencil portraits which I've always adored and spent some decent cash having it nicely matted and framed as an homage and a memory of our great adventure.
