When you post a thread, do you only respond to those replies...

I notice so often the, "WTF!", the "How DARE you!?!?!", the. "Why I NEVER!!" but then there's only replies to they that support the OP's, ahem, inner, shall we say, notion of what a reply should be...curious,

why post an OP to then step around, or ignore, everyone but for they that stroke your ego...even when you may opine that the matter is not about you?
