Poll question: Should "loud blast in Bahgdad" headline be banned from LBN? |
|
This is no longer news worthy. There are _always_ loud blasts heard in Bahgdad. How about we wait until we can announce "NO loud blasts in Bahgdad?"

3. Coffins coming in from overseas are no longer newsworthy... |
|
either. So let's help the government censor our perceptions of battles thousands of miles away.
Ban away, Big Brother.

8. Re coffins: just finished watching hour-long memorial on CBC Newsworld |
|
. .
I hope a few DUers got to watch it, the inuendos were endless.
It was a great ceremony, and afterwards, the commentator made direct reference to the fact that such ceremonies "are for all intensive purposes, banned from the public and the press in the United States".
Right after that was a press interview with MecLellan (our Vice Prime Minister) and Tom Ridge:
I think she did fine - and suprize, Ridge did the "dodge" thing, and even butted in to answer questions that were directed to Ms McLellan
I'm sure there will be reruns,(of both) they were on CBC (more detailed on CBC's NewsWorld), and it may not get too much coverage in the Amerikan Media (doh)
Thot some might be interested

4. No because of the cover ban, that may be the only news we get |
|
on any given blast, and at least if we have that blast heard to hang stuff on, we can benefit from the collective efforts of so many people actively seeking out deliberate acts of anticoverbanism.

6. hmmm, maybe we could number them...14,328th loud blast... |
|
heard in Bahgdad.
Actually, I would prefer the headline to tell the truth...
"Mother's grieve X more Americans needlessly wounded/killed in Iraq"

7. Strenuously object -- it's crucial to keep Iraq-related news hot |
|
I use this resource daily to track events in Iraq. The "loud blast in Baghdad" stories are crucial to debunking official end-of-the-tunnel lies from the State.

9. I voted "yes",but only because when the REAL story hits the paper |
|
. .
or on-line media comes up with some REAL details, and you post a legit headline,
some mods lock it and make you use the "blast" thread.
While I'm at it:
It would be nice if the mods made posters put the TIME and DATE on "BREAKING ..." posts.
It is very frustrating to open up the thread and find out that it is OLD news.

10. Fair enough, but I have seldom had the "old news" blues |
|
People seem to be generally good at posting the news stuff.
