Building a new 'puter- things only a geek would be excited about!
I am about to rebuild my computer- woohooooo! I have a new chip (AMD x2 6400 3.2 ghz), a new muthaboard, new ram (3 gigs of ddr2 800) and a new 500 gig sata II hard drive. Just waiting for that beautiful brown truck to roll up the driveway to get started.

I would have went with an Intel quad core chip but who has 1000+ for the processor alone?

1. Q6600 is 'only' $280
Intel's lowest-end quad-core, at 2.4GHz.

But since there's absolutely zero point in having more than 2 cores for 99.999999999% of home users (myself included) at the present time, I couldn't pass up the X2 6000+ for $160. No need to feed the big anticompetitive evil for a pair of unused cores.
