I wish billyskank lived near me.
Because I have bread. Not a lot, mind you, because BoyMidlo is home, but enough for a nice turkey sandwich with colby cheese, lettuce and mayonnaise.

Oh, and I have fresh apples from the trees and brownies.

I *really* wish billyskank lived near me.

She bakes EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT.

Does she clean up? Of course not. But, at least there are treats for lunches in the morning.

3. Well, it was until last night
but that's something we'll figure out, somehow. *sigh*

Incidentally, I do a lot of baking myself! Not every day (because I hate doing dishes) but at least a couple of times a week. I'm probably making homemade peach cobbler tonight, because ThinkBlue1966 has been pleading for it all week. :hi:

My recipe:

Peach Cobbler

(cobbler batter ingredients)
3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. ground oats (I use clean dry hands to grind them up without turning them into powder)
3/4 c. white sugar
1/4 c. packed brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 stick unsalted sweet cream butter
1 c. milk

(to prepare peaches)
4-5 medium sliced fresh peaches
1 tbsp. lemon juice
3 tbsp. apple juice
1 tsp. cinnamon
4 tbsp. sugar

1. Melt butter in a 2 quart glass or Corningware casserole dish in 375 degree oven; remove when melted.
2. In a bowl, combine flour, ground oats, sugar, cinnamon, and baking powder. Add the milk and stir until blended.
3. In a separate bowl, combine peach slices, juices, sugar, and cinnamon and toss gently with a spoon to mix.
4. Pour the peach mixture into the melted butter in the casserole dish and spread out evenly.
5. Drizzle the batter back and forth over fruit. Sprinkle top with a few pinches of sugar. Bake 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
