Things we don't think about
I was lying in bed this morning, thinking about how coool it would be to have the power to walk through walls. Sure, it sounds great, but my clothes and shoes wouldn't have the same power, so I'd be naked by the time I got to the other side.

In fact, if walls would not resist my body, neither would the floor, so I'd never make it through the wall because I'd quickly sink past the floor, the ground below, and on to the center of the earth. My lungs would be full of dirt or even lava.

Be careful what you wish for, folks. Think things through.

1. That, and you'd have to be able to survive a vacume
if you were intangible.

When I was toying with creating a 'superhero' universe a few years ago (part of a big RPG system I was making) I figured that intangibility wasn't an uncommon power... but ultimately useless without the ability to defy gravity and survive in a vacume, so out of the several hundred super-powered people in that universe, only one had that combination of abilities. Actually the gravity defying was part of his intangability, his power was that he could choose what affects him and how, including matter, light and gravity. Once again, not an uncommon power, but few people survived their first few times using it. Out of the several people who may have developed that ability, he was the only one who was able to survive vacume and not do anything stupid until he had full control over his abilities.

Of course, due to the obvious trickster capabilities of his powers, he does plenty of stupid things with them once they're under control. :) His 'superhero' name in was Loki.

2. How do they get the liquid centres inside a chocolate?
(I actually know the answer to this).

3. Smegma...I never, ever think about smegma
or prime numbers. What's the point?

4. Yeah. In all the movies...
...ghosts blithely walk through walls, yet seem bound by gravity and have to take the stairs to get to other floors.
