This morning I met 2 men whose combined IQ would make George Bush look like a Rocket Scientist |
|
I had a mattress delivery this morning. I'm blessed with these freaky L-steps which makes getting things up and down a real pain in the ass. About 2 weeks ago myself, along with my best friend, moved my own mattress and boxspring over to my new home. It's a top of the line full size mattress set that is one of the thickest you can buy. It took us about 45 minutes but we managed to get the boxsprings up the steps with noting more than a scratch on the wall.
Well in comes Laurel & Hardy - ie the dumbasses contracted by Boscov's to do Saturday deliveries. This was not a thick mattress and boxspring set - it was a lower end model I was going to put into my guest bedroom.
Well these 2 dumbasses spent about 5 minutes negotiating the steps and just gave up. I kept telling them it could be done and it had been done with a boxsprings about 2 inches thicker than what they had. It was kinda like parallel parking in a bad space - just inch it a little bit at a time and you'll get in there. But they refused to listen and wouldn't bother trying
:grr:
Now not only do I have to run back to Boscovs to get my refund but I have all the extras I bought for the bed that I'm gonna take back too. I did call Boscov's - they were very concerned and very helpful.

2. I'm totally convinced.... |
|
...that you cannot find good service anywhere, anymore, no exaggeration, very few exceptions.

5. My guess is that they'll want to save the sale... |
|
...and will ask you to be available for another delivery at their convenience. It might be good for them to lose your business due to the incompetence of contractors.

6. I do alot of business with Boscovs - I know it wasn't their faultq |
|
and the gal I talked to asked if I'd talk to their dept. mgr since it seems I'm not the first one with issues.
I think I'm either going to get a bedframe & mattress from Ikea (they don't use boxsprings with their setups) or I'm going to have to get a trundle bed

7. I had the exact same thing happen once |
|
I was working graveyard shifts and left work at 6am to go to my new apartment to take delivery of my bed at 7, with the plan that I'd then go to sleep in it so I could be rested before work at 9 that night.
But the clowns flatly gave up on getting the darn thing up the stairs - same thing, I knew it would fit because I'd already taken my daughter's bed up with the help of my husband.
So I had to run to town, get a refund (involving a lot of argument since they didn't "do" refunds ("Oh, yes you do!" was my reply - I won) and then I went to another place and bought a waterbed, loaded it into my small car, lugged it home, dragged the pieces up the stairs, put it together, filled it up...
...and then it was time to go to work again. :nuke:
