I own a 2002 Chevy S-10 that has a 5 speed manual transmission. What is the service interval for the transmission? I've looked all over the web and I cannot find it anywhere without getting charged for a manual.

1. you don't need a 'repair' manual, you need the owner's manual |
|
the car didn't have one in the glove box when you bought it?
the maintenance schedule is listed in the back

2. I don't have the owners manual |
|
I bought the truck used and the owner didn't leave the manual. He/she also did not leave the jack handle/lug wrench, either, which really fucked me over one time.

3. I think you can get it online |
|
at www.mygmlink.com
You have to register, but then they'll probably keep you abreast of recalls, etc. Good luck. If that doesn't work, you can try calling customer service or a local dealer and ask if they can give you the info.

6. Now that's a damn good idea |

I have a tendency to not think of the obvious sometimes. One call going in to the local Chevy dealer. I will post the answer.

7. They recommend every 30,000-50,000 miles |
|
The truck has 58,000 on it. When I bought it used it had 34,000 on it and I doubt that the previous owner had the transmission serviced. Time to hit the quicky lube.

8. glad you found the answer |

I used to do customer service for GM(I'd always recommend calling the local dealer before customer service). They charge an exorbitant amount for those manuals. GM doesn't even publish them, I forget who does. I hope you are able to find an online copy.
