I really like the sparing-ish guitar. I've just listened to the first song, he is a clever lyricist too:

yep, I'm listening to The Silence There, you can really hear a Dire Straits influence. I heard an interview with Mark once and he said the reason he plays like that so much between verses is "to make the guitar go where the voice can't" as he knew he didn't have the greatest voice.
I like this guy's sound alot, I bet he gives a great live show. :hi:
